The Bowerbird
Does everyone know the story of the bowerbird? The actual bowerbird? Look it up online or read about it somewhere - it's a fascinating creature. The male bowerbird will create an elaborate environment of a specific color to attract a mate. If a female strolls by their nest and doesn't stop, the bowerbird may tear it all apart and start anew with a new color scheme and adornments. Some juvenile bowerbirds will practice building their bowers (nests) for years, even stealing from the adults. Of course, there are many species of bowerbirds, each with their own distinct habits and ways of building their bowers to attract females. But all in all, they are the avian world's decorators.
Hence, The Bowerbird. So many interesting objects to create your own bower. Whether you want to attract a female, a male, or just please yourself, creating your own personal nest is important. The Bowerbird was created because I have amassed so many interesting "things", i.e., artwork, ethnic goods, fabrics, furniture, antiques, books and more. I seriously can't use it all - so I'll share the wealth. You, too, can create your own eclectic, personal space.
